Student arriving on first day of school

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. As I begin my fifth year at Tortolita, I am always amazed at the rich tradition of the school and the many students who have passed through these hallways. Many times when I introduce myself to people I will sometimes hear, “I went to Tortolita!” What follows is that they enjoyed their time here and it was a wonderful middle school experience.

My goal continues to be a partner with you in your child’s education. We want to continue to have high expectations for our students, while building positive relationships along the way. As the principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors – teachers, students and parents- are excited to be here. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment.

Tortolita Middle School offers a variety of programs including: fine arts, athletics, gifted and special education classes. We also offer various electives to fit the needs of every student.

We are committed to helping all students have a successful transition, both from elementary to middle, and from middle to high school. Our teachers strive to build positive relationships with students, while creating a classroom where students are challenged academically.

Throughout this school year, I want you to know my door is always open and I welcome your input and feedback. I truly believe we are partners in your child’s education so please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you may have. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year.
