2025 Promotion Information

Promotion Dates & Times

All promoting 8th graders can invite up to four guests. Due to gym capacity, we can not exceed that amount. All guests (including children, but not lap babies) will need a ticket to gain entrance.
Beginning May 1, tickets can be picked up in the Counseling Office before school (8:30-9am) or after school (4-4:30pm). If you'd like us to release the tickets to your student directly, please email America Trujillo (a.a.trujillo@maranausd.org) to give permission.
Please keep track of your tickets! Lost tickets cannot be replaced.
Tickets ARE transferable. Families are welcome to trade amongst themselves.
If you'd like to request two additional tickets, you may email Ms. Trujillo in the counseling office and she will add your name to our "Extra Ticket Request" list in the order the requests are received. Any tickets donated back to the school (because families know they will not use them) will be redistributed according to this list. (This is not a guarantee of extra tickets. Last year, only about 20 tickets were redistributed this way.)
In need of ASL interpretation? Please email Jessica Franklin at j.s.franklin@maranausd.org by May 1 if you or any of your guests will require ASL interpreting.

Promotion is not a "formal" event, but students do want to pick out an outfit that honors the occasion, makes them feel confident, and also meets our dress code. (Please avoid strapless dresses, or dresses that show undergarments.)

FIRST PROMOTION (A-K)? Arrive at 9:10am.
- (Please do not arrive prior to 9am to avoid morning drop-off traffic.)
SECOND PROMOTION (L-Z)? Arrive at 11:10am.

Your student will NOT attend classes on Thursday. They will arrive with parents and leave with parents when the ceremony is over!
Your 8th grader will enter the front gate and report to the breezeway.
Guests will hand their tickets at the gate, and find a seat in the gym.
After the ceremony, students may leave with their family. Remember, there IS school on Thursday for 7th graders from 9am-1pm.

FIRST PROMOTION (A-K). Please do not park on Hardy Road.
- You may use the bus bay for overflow parking.
SECOND PROMOTION (L-Z). Do not park in the bus bay.
- Buses will be arriving at 12:30pm.
- You may park on the south side of Hardy Road near the ball fields if necessary.
